Molokan Families in Kars, Turkey

Korolev, Agapov

Most of these photos and names were sent by Suat Boyar (Stepan Mikhailich Agapov), a Molokan whose family still lives in Kars, Turkey. Suat's grandfather, mother's side (below), was Vasilli Korolev. He owns a business in Kars, speaks some Russian but no English. The family name probably was changed from Russian (Korolev) to Turkish (Boyar) during mandantory nationalization in the 1930s. See Kars photos taken in 2005 by Dmitri Bruhin. Spellings are those provided by Suat (right).
